REEMA ASSAF

Reema Assaf is a Palestinian actress, writer, and performance maker based between London and Haifa. Her work operates symbiotically, where academic research directly informs her practice and vice versa, with a specific focus on researching the body and the performance of identity. Having worked on both sides of the curtain as a performer and a stage manager, among other roles, Reema holds a holistic understanding of theatre and performance that allows her to examine the intricate friction between the body, the script, and the physical space. Her practice serves as an honest, stark reflection of her lived experience as a Palestinian woman, intentionally testing political and social boundaries.
