SPARAGMOS

In an everlasting pre-drinks warm-up, two paramours taunt each other. Caught inside a dreamlike cage, built to keep reality out, these tragic creatures reveal their true selves as they dress for the next rave. Both ache to be seen, and both ache to self-preserve.

The piece traces the tragic logic of two who crave intimacy but only know violence.

Euripides' Bacchae is transformed into a chamber piece, becoming a pre-party ritual in a world betwixt ecstasy and reality.

Time folds like a butterfly knife in a miniature world of sweets, manipulation, rivalry and spit, where movement and language are both medium and prison.

If you want to get to heaven you've got to get high!
